Respond to the “immediate” expulsion: immediate public condemning the French Government fundamental rights violations!

As French public authorities announced during the last days, the Roma from Eastern Europe are to be immediately expulsed from France, even these measures represent a clear violation of the EU legislation.

Romani CRISS is protesting against the recent initiative of the French Government to stigmatize, collectively deport and unlawfully limit the fundamental rights of the Roma and Travelers, particularly the freedom of circulation.

· As the French Government announced also an upcoming meeting of French officials and Romanian authorities in Bucharest in relation to a bilateral agreement in relation to Roma expulsion in their origin country, We will organize during this official meeting a protest against this “immediate” expulsion policy, as we consider it racist and discriminatory against Roma. Join us against discrimination!

HEALTH AND ROMA COMMUNITY: ANALYSIS OF THE SITUATION IN EUROPE

I N T R O D U C T I ON
In 2007 the European project 'Health and the Roma Community. Analysis of the Situation in Europe' got started with the aim of analysing the healthsituation of the Roma community in Europe, addressing social inequalities in health and suggest, on the basis of the knowledge acquired, policies and actions aimed for the improvement of the health situation of the Roma community in Europe and for the reduction of inequity in Roma's access to healthcare.
This project is based on work carried out in Spain during 2006 in the framework of a cooperation agreement signed in 2003 between the Ministry of Health (now Ministry of Health and Social Policy) and the Fundacion Secretariado Gitano, which resulted in the first National Health Survey of the Roma Population of Spain.
